Bullard LT Series Helmets

The Inboard Helmet Light bracket will only fit on the Bullard LT series helmet if an adapter plate is used. We have found LT helmets with a manufacture date of 2007 can utilize an adapter plate application without any altering of the chinstrap mounting or helmet shell.

In the picture to the right, you will see the chinstrap mounting has nuts that are inset and therefore no drilling or altering is necessary.

In this picture, you see the adapter plate installed with machine screws going through the plate, chinstrap mounting piece and helmet. (No drilling required.)

This is a side view of adapter plate installed with machine screws going through the plate, chinstrap mounting piece and helmet with nylock nuts on the top.

This is a front view. Notice there is adequate clearance for the face shield to be put down.

We have also found LT helmets with a manufacture date of 2009 where the chinstrap mounting is different than the helmet manufactured in 2007. The difference can be seen in this picture (sorry for the poor quality.) The nuts are not inset in the mounting piece but rather the mounting piece has dome-shaped receivers for the coarse-thread screws coming through from the top. This prevents the adapter plate from sitting flush. In order for the adapter plate to work with this mounting piece, the mounting piece would have to be altered or replaced with a replacement chinstrap mount for the 2007 model, available at BULLARD STANDARD CHINSTRAP WITH QUICK RELEASE BUCKLE .

IF, AFTER READING ALL OF THIS, YOU DECIDE YOU NEED AN ADAPTER PLATE, PLEASE CALL DARRELL AT (580) 402-5980 TO ORDER.

Smith & Wesson Delta Force Tactical Xenon Light

We are in the process of field testing this new light from Smith & Wesson. I have been using it on my personal helmet. It gives off a very bright, direct light. Here are some specifics as put out by Smith & Wesson:
  • Xenon bulb with 3V lithium batteries for 93 Lumen of white light
  • Made from T6-6063 High Density Aerospace Aluminum
  • Lens made of high-tension, shatterproof and scratch-resistant polycarbonate material
  • Double O-ring sealed - fire, water, moisture and chemical resistant
  • Uses (2) CR123A Lithium batteries
  • Factory focused beam with constant on and signal switch
We do not have this light listed as a product yet but if you are interested in purchasing it, please call me at (580) 402-5980.

Traditional Style Cairns 1044 with full face shield and/or 1/2" mounting bolt spacing

If you have a Cairns 1044 with a full face shield and/or 1/2" mounting bolt spacing, as shown here, you will need to order a package F. This is actually a bracket designed for a modern helmet but when turned to the inside (so the decal is facing toward the inside of the helmet) it allows for clearance of the light from the face shield.
NOTE: The light shown in these photos is the Smith & Wesson Delta Force Tactical. The Bracket is the same.

Traditional Style Cairns 880

We have had a few requests for brackets for the Traditional style Cairns 880 with a 4" face shield.

Unfortunately, there is just not enough clearance for the face shield when the Inboard bracket is mounted.
